Durham County Schools’ Union Vic Young Mitsubishi Motors’ Young Match Official Programme 2018
Durham are proud to announce that they will be partnering with Vic Young Mitsubishi Motors’ to bring you the first Schools’ generate YMO programme.
What is it?
The Durham Young Match Officials Programme offers school pupils a pathway into officiating rugby union at schools’ festivals and cup competitions. As part of the programmes, pupils will either complete their England Rugby Referee Qualification (15 a-side game) or the Quilter Kids First Refereeing Qualification (U9-13). This programme also creates a route into refereeing for the Durham County Referee’s Society.
How to get involved?
You can get involved by getting your schools to firstly, sign up to become a member of the schools’ union (Link to previous page about signing up). Secondly, you can get in touch via email to express your interest in the programme

What do you and your school get?

As part of the programme, pupils will be able to log their hours via England Rugby Young Rugby Ambassadors, so that they can receive England Rugby branded kit such as tshirts, hoodies and jackets.

As a school, the hours volunteered by your students will be logged in a table. This will then be used to reward the school with an England Rugby equipment pack, that provides the most referee support to events.
On match days, pupils will be provided with a sponsor branded match official top to wear. As well, through courses completed each volunteer will receive cards and a whistle.
